Demon Fish: Travels Through the Hidden World of Sharks

DuckworthBooks recently released this promotional video for Juliet Eilperin’s new shark book “Demon Fish: Travels Through the Hidden World of Sharks.”

“Demon Fish,” which was released in June, chronicles Eilperin’s travels around the world as she focuses on how various cultures and individuals relate to sharks. Eilperin investigates topics such as shark fishing for sport, the shark fin market, and shark related ecotourism.

“Demon Fish: Travels Through the Hidden World of Sharks” is available for purchase at Amazon.

  1. Dave says:

Too bad she had to title the book in an ominous manner just to sell copies. I guess “Killing Machine” was already taken. It seems like so many efforts to change the public opinion of sharks are for nothing when sharks are depicted in any way as being evil. I understand the book is most likely very much in favor of sharks but the sensationalistic grabber title is irresponsible in 2011.

  2. Matt says:

I totally agree with you, Dave. I saw this book a few day ago at a book shop, read the title, shook my head moved on. I didn’t even want to be bothered knowing what the book was about due to the distasteful title. Now I come here and see that it’s a pro-shark book…would have never known it.
